I actually finished a 5 year journal which is unusual for me and it goes with your theme of grace. It took me from August 2016 to December 2024 to fill in all the days!

Basically I fell off it when we moved and then again when we painted the interior of the house. Key for me was to keep it out in a very visible location and update it daily. If I missed a day and couldn't remember I just skipped it and caught it the following year. It's now full, except for the Leap Day page 💙

that's a great idea to just skip it and catch up the following year. At this point, I just want it done. Although maybe I should skip 2026 and do it refereshed in 2027?

I wouldn't just skip it entirely, fill in where you can. I actually love having such a huge range in one book, my kids went from 3 to 12 and 6 to 15 by the time I finally finished it ;) I don't love any project that requires daily participation so I'm not starting another.

I LOVE that your 5-year-journal took 8 years to complete.

Thanks, just added some of those shows to my Netflix queue and found a movie called Little while I was searching.

I have a one line a day journal that lives in my bedside table. That is the only way I can remember to do it - literally when I am in bed. Having to play catchup with it sucks!

Mary, even when I put it on my bedside table, I push it right to the furthest point I can because I don't want to see it :)

Haha maybe you have too high expectations for it! Challenge yourself to write ONE sentence before you turn out the light. It could be as simple and repetitive as what you wore, or ate, or an appointment you had.

I LOVE the idea of doing a personal QBR!! Thanks for the inspo. And did you love I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings? I read a while back but still think about it. Oh, and Tiny Beautiful Things ... GAH!! Loved.

Thank you! I loved I know why the caged bird sings! It was sad and also beautiful as a lot of sad things are.

I have not made any progress on the watching of Tiny Beautiful Things this week because my husband got me started on Good American Family.
