We usually stay with family on holidays in the UK 4-5 weeks!! So we never get any cupboard space. Would not ever cope without my packing cubes.

Plus I order online toiletries and, because I have dairy, gluten and egg intolerances, also order bread, milk, protein powder and granola online = hugely reduces my required packing space.

I love you have transitioned into the packer you've always wanted to be! That is yet to happen to me (LOL!) I am that person at the check in counter who looks like they're leaving the country and it's even worse when I travel with kids. I have however become more considerate of the sheer volume of things I take with me when traveling to places where we need to take domestic flights or trains.

I love using packing cubes too because with how much I carry I like to see everything.

I love all of this! If I am traveling alone I try REALLLLLY hard to fit everything into a carryon suitcase but I can't make that work with the kids. (Though I guess they're old enough to have their own now, but they wouldn't like it.) So for bigger trips we do one big checked bag for me + kids and TJ usually brings a separate carryon. We used to be able to fit all four of our clothes into our large suitcase but not anymore since both kids wear adult sizes now. I only use packing cubes when I travel with them to separate out each of our stuff.

I'm torn on the pillow situation. I bought one that got great reviews on Wirecutter and realized in flight that it's really uncomfortable with headphones at long intervals. And I hate in-ear headphones. But I love having a pillow if we are lucky enough to have space or I get a window.

I really like my own space so shared suitcases are amazing (for other people). Agree once kids wear bigger clothes it all makes sense for their own suitcases. This is us on a driving holiday to the beach last year.

Oh yeah, for driving I can see extra bags buty kids definitely don't want to lug suitcases around the airport, only their backpacks.
